Originally an Apothecary, this heritage Adelaide residence was carefully reworked to improve the relationship between its interior spaces and a compact outdoor setting.

The brief included the addition of a swimming pool within a particularly constrained site. A shipping-container pool provided an inventive response, elevated to allow the structure below to also function as secure car parking.

A new covered deck and alfresco space establish a stronger connection between the home and pool, while the existing interiors were sensitively refurbished to support contemporary living. The resulting design introduces a new layer to the property while respecting the character and heritage significance of the original building.
