This extension and renovation reimagines a South Brighton bungalow as a relaxed contemporary home informed by its coastal setting.

The clients sought a modern arrangement with the character and informality of a Queenslander-style beach house. A new addition brings together kitchen, dining and multiple living zones, extending naturally into a covered alfresco area for year-round indoor–outdoor living.

Alterations to the original bungalow were considered as part of the overall composition, creating a cohesive home that balances its existing character with a lighter, more open approach to seaside living.
